The heart of Foundations of Recovery (FoR) is a three-stage group programme, Foundations of Change, Foundations of Growth and Foundations of Life. Although it is important to note that Foundations of Recovery is not limited to the group programme alone: drawing on an emerging recovery evidence base that highlights the importance of stable social support networks in initiating and maintaining successful long-term recovery in the community. Foundations of Recovery utilises a range of proven evidence-based technologies; Cognitive Therapy, Behavioural Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing are the principal theoretical cornerstones of FOR’s group interventions and therapeutic program.

We celebrate community as the principle focus of long-term recovery. Foundations of Recovery recognises that by building recovery capital we can reduce social inequality and increase the likelihood of successful recovery outcomes in the long term.
